Professor Bastian’s research interest focuses on the molecular mechanisms that lead to the formation of melanocytic neoplasms. Nevi that form during development before birth are a distinct subset of melanocytic nevi that deserve special attention to delineate their pathogenesis and develop rational therapeutic approaches.
